The Flower Girl!

My pretty little girl was a flower girl for the very first time on 4.26.09. She did so good!! We started the morning at 10:30 with Papa Gordon doing her hair, and of course even though she was warned she accidentally touched the very hot curling iron. It ended up working out to her benefit, she got to eat a Popsicle while her hair was finished.

Next it was off to the train station for pictures. I know I'm partial but what a photogenic little girl! She posed beautifully and was very patient for the time we were there. Although around 1 pm she had to go the the bathroom so bad, and informed me that she hadn't been at all that day. Shame on me for not making her go as soon as she woke up!! Fortunately the O.P. Library was very close and had just opened. After the pictures and a quick stop at Tim Horton's for some well deserved treats, it was off to the Ceremony.

I was definitely more nervous than Riley. She did excellent walking slow down the isle. From all the excitement and early morning she fell asleep about halfway through the ceremony, and when she woke up and found the ceremony to be over she burst into tears. She was so upset because she thought she had missed the dancing!

Next it was off to Cecelia's for dinner. Here she is with Allison and Matt, the Bride and Groom. This restaurant was amazing! The food was so delicious, Adam and myself will definitely be returning for a date night!

Party Time!! The reception was at Henry's Lounge at Kleinhans Music Hall. This is what Riley was waiting for. The girl loves to dance. Riley loved being a flower girl, and now when she's playing pretend at home that's all she wants to play!

Hair Cut!

Riley has had her first haircut in almost a year!! Adam and myself have been very reluctant to let anyone cut her hair since she cut it herself last May. I was working overnights then and was also three months pregnant, so I was extremely tired and not paying much attention to Riley. She used scissors that she had seen Adam, who cuts his own hair, use a dozen times to cut her hair all the way down to her scalp and the length of her part. So finally after several months of horrible bangs and lots of gel Dan (a family friend and hair stylist) trimmed her bangs. It's just a small change for now, Riley is in a wedding at the end of the month and I want her hair long enough for an up do. However after the wedding if I'm brave enough the plan is to get her a cute little girl haircut. Riley was very happy to have her haircut because Dan also cuts Aunt Shaunna's hair and Riley's always asking for me to do her hair like Aunt Shaunna.

The Kids

Here is a recent picture of Riley and Logan. They love each other so much, Riley is finally use to Logan being around and this picture really shows how comfortable she is with him.

My Very First Post!

OK, so I'm very new to the Blogger world. It was introduced to me about a week ago. When I asked my husband what he thought about me starting one, he jokingly said "Sure, but do you have anything to talk about?" And he's mostly right, there's not much for me to talk about. Except my two awesome kids. So that is what this Blog is going to be for, family and close friends to visit and see pic's and read cute stories about The Smith Family!
